Business Support Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Business Support Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Responsibilities:

  • To administer the Boards response to applications under the Licensing Act and Gambling Act.
  • To assist in the production of SSCB and SSAB publications and advice materials, liaising with suppliers and authors.
  • To understand, operate and maintain up to date knowledge of the Government Guidance on the role of Local Safeguarding Children Boards and Child Protection Procedures and advise staff or other agencies accordingly.
  • To respond to enquiries sensitively and efficiently from professionals and service users on the role and function of the Board, either orally or in writing, taking into account individual circumstances. This may involve the completion of a variety of original/non standard correspondence or documentation, assessing possible risk, advising callers or other agencies on correct procedures and ensuring follow up.
  • To liaise with senior officers of other services, and departments and external organisations, resolving problems, and informing and advising on day to day issues in relation to safeguarding and the role and function of the Board.
  • To provide administrative cover to other areas of the Division as required.

Required Experience:

  • To have extensive clerical/administrative experience
  • To have demonstrable experience of using IT systems in a working environment, including sate input and retrieval, compilation of reports and presentation of data
  • To have had experience of minuting multi-agency meetings
