Senior Rehousing Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Haringey to assist with the appointment of a Senior Rehousing Officer, on a 2.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £21.82 - £27.49 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Be a proactive member of the Housing Demand Management Team, to promote and contribute to delivery of the strategic and operational goals of the service.
  • Supervise housing officers to deliver an effective, flexible and responsive service which meets the needs of customers and stakeholders.
  • Represent the service internally and externally as required, to enhance the profile of the service and improve opportunities for joint working.
  • Manage designated staff, being accountable for all aspects of supervision, development and line management responsibilities, to ensure officers are supported to perform.
  • Play a lead role in maintaining a rolling list of move ready cases in order for available private sector properties to be allocated efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • A good understanding of issues relating to temporary accommodation, the private rental market.
  • A working knowledge of Welfare Benefits and how these are applied to households living in and moving on from Temporary Accommodation.
  • Able to effectively lead and manage staff; supporting, enabling and motivating them to succeed.
  • Experience of identifying the need for and engaging in effective partnership working.

  • This role requires an enhanced DBS
