Building Safety Project Manager

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newham to assist with the appointment of a Building Safety Project Manager, on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £308.39 - £398.00 per Day

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the development of Building Safety Case Files and Building Safety Case reports, including the application to the Building Safety Regulator for Building Assessment Certificates.
  • To lead on the inspection of buildings in scope to ensure structural and fire safety. Managing the cladding and block inspection process, EWS1 cladding inspections, the requirements of the MHCLG consolidated guidance and industry good practice.
  • To work with a range of stakeholders, including but not limited to, fire engineers, consultant surveyors, residents, solicitors, leaseholders, housing staff and staff in other council departments as necessary to deliver planned objectives to prove that buildings are safe.
  • To prepare and issue reports on the requirements for building remediation, working collaboratively with other teams to ensure that repairs/improvements are expedited efficiently and residents are at all times fully updated.
  • Work closely with the Head of Building Safety, others within the Building Safety team and the wider housing management team to develop and deliver effective resident communications to demonstrate that buildings are safe.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of building construction methods and materials.
  • Experience of successful project management.
  • Minimum 5 years experience of working in private/public sector in a property maintenance, housing or construction environment.
  • valid UK driving licence and access to use a vehicle for business use.
