Employment Advisor
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bexley to assist with the appointment of a Employment Advisor, on a 6 months contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £19.16- £24.46 per hour
Summary:
The Employment Advisor will be a key member of the BBE employability team, dedicated to supporting adult job seekers, particularly those who have been out of work for longer periods, to overcome employment barriers and move into sustainable employment. Where required by contract, the role will involve delivering support using both Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) models, working in close partnership with local agencies, partners, employers, and internal colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a high volume or complex caseload, delivering the job search process for new and existing clients to support them into sustainable employment, ensuring appropriate evidence capture.
- Protect personal data accessed, in line with GDPR and other relevant legislation.
- Develop and maintain understanding of Government initiatives around supporting disengaged, socially and economically excluded clients to develop appropriate and effective support.
- Review and develop structures, procedures, and working methods to ensure an integrated, effective, and efficient approach to service delivery.
- Promote and support the Council's policies and procedures for safeguarding, ensuring duties are carried out in a way that ensures the safeguarding and welfare of service users.
Qualifications:
- GCSE education (A-C level) in English & Maths or equivalent.
- Appropriate professional qualification or willingness to work towards one.
Experience:
- Proven substantial experience working in a recruitment or employment advisory environment, having supported individuals to achieve employment goals using client action plans.
- Experience using different methods of communication to maintain engagement and progress clients into sustainable employment.
- Specific experience in delivering employability support under the IPS (Individual Placement and Support) and/or SEQF (Supported Employment Quality Framework) models.
- Good knowledge of the Welfare to Work benefits system.
