Tenancy Enforcement Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of a Tenancy Enforcement Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £18.30 - £23.05 per hour
Summary:
The Tenancy Enforcement Officer provides high-quality, front-line housing services to ensure the appropriate use and peaceful enjoyment of council properties. This includes managing tenancy and neighborhood issues, ensuring new tenants transition smoothly into their homes, and taking proactive steps to resolve nuisance and anti-social behaviour (ASB).
This is a community-facing role requiring independent work, excellent customer service, and collaboration with internal departments and external partners. Officers will also carry out enforcement actions for breaches of tenancy conditions and help maintain a safe and pleasant environment for all residents.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day tenancy and neighborhood issues for a designated patch of dwellings.
- Conduct pre- and post-tenancy visits to support new tenants and promote available services.
- Monitor tenancy compliance and tackle tenancy breaches, nuisance, and anti-social behaviour.
- Work with vulnerable tenants and coordinate with support services where needed.
- Undertake estate inspections and joint patrols with partners (e.g., police, housing associations).
Requirements:
- Experience managing tenancy-related issues in social housing or a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of housing legislation, tenancy rights, and legal enforcement processes.
- Proactive and assertive approach to ASB, safeguarding, and tenancy enforcement.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience dealing with sensitive and high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of safeguarding protocols and partnership working.
