Fund Governance Manager

Rate of Pay: £50788.00 - £52805.00 per Annum
Summary:
Wiltshire Council is seeking an experienced and strategic Fund Governance Manager to lead the governance function for the Wiltshire Pension Fund. You will ensure that all regulatory, compliance, and policy frameworks are effectively implemented and managed. The role includes direct support to the Head of the Pension Fund and key engagement with external partners, auditors, the Pensions Committee, and the Local Pension Board.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the funds governance framework in line with LGPS regulations.
- Lead on compliance with the Pensions Regulators Code of Practice 14 and GDPR.
- Maintain and report on breaches, risks, and policy compliance.
- Manage and support the Pensions Committee and Local Pension Board.
- Produce and present reports, agendas, and training plans.
- Oversee performance monitoring, procurement exercises, and contract management.
Qualifications:
- Degree-level education and relevant professional qualification (e.g. IPPM, PMI, CII) or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of LGPS Regulations and pension governance standards.
Experience Required:
- At least 5 years experience in administering a large defined benefit pension scheme.
- Experience managing committees and governance frameworks within public sector pensions.
- Deep understanding of defined benefit pension schemes, business planning, and compliance.
- Experience in delivering training and leading contract or procurement exercises.
