Finance Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Wirral to assist with the appointment of a Finance Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.41 - £16.71 per hour

Summary:

Responsible for providing financial and administrative services which support the Fostering teams operations, and which meet local and statutory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance both to colleagues, customers including providers on services, policies and processes including non-routine enquiries to ensure that correct procedures are being applied.
  • Provide and promote a customer focused service.
  • Develop constructive working relationships with colleagues and customers including providers. Liaise with customers proactively
  • Undertake a range of financial management processes, including processing orders, payments and invoicing, petty cash, resolving non-standard issues, reconciling accounts and handling cash.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of information and payments that impact on budgets or financial controls.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Experience:
  • Experience of basic data input entry to business support systems and extrapolation.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements.
  • Experience of working in a customer service or office environment.
    Able to work to deadlines.
