Business Support Assistant

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lincolnshire to assist with the appointment of a Business Support Assistant, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.45 - £16.06 per Hour

Hours Per Week: 22.50

Summary:

The role sits within the Court of Protection and Appointee Team, supporting the financial management of vulnerable adults who lack capacity. The post-holder will be responsible for overseeing clients' finances, ensuring day-to-day expenditure is authorised appropriately, and maintaining regular contact with Social Workers to guarantee that client needs are met within allocated budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial affairs of individuals under Court of Protection or Appointeeship.
  • Monitor and reconcile client accounts, ensuring financial compliance and integrity.
  • Process payments, manage income streams (e.g., benefits, pensions), and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are documented in line with legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Respond to financial queries from stakeholders, including social care teams, clients' representatives, and external bodies.
  • Assist in preparing reports for the Court of Protection, Office of the Public Guardian, and internal audits.
  • Safeguard against financial abuse and identify irregularities or concerns in client accounts.

Essentials:

  • Experience in finance-related roles, ideally within social care or public sector.
  • Understanding of the Court of Protection, Appointeeship, and associated legislation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing accounts and financial records.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
