Lead Mentor

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of a Lead Mentor, on a 4-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £18.80 - £23.67 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • To provide practical support for CYP and support engagement in personal, social development activities, and where appropriate, education, employment and training.
  • To ensure interventions are recorded on the appropriate recording system in line with the practice standards of Children and Families Social Care.
  • To develop, lead and evaluate consultation activity with relevant participation groups to ensure the programme continuously meets their needs.
  • To support mentees to improve their sense of identity and develop a sense of belonging through utilisation of the Childrens Services Practice framework including the delivery of practical support and social skills and activities
  • To maintain good communication with Children in our Care and Care Leavers who would like ongoing mentoring support, ensuring that you contract effectively and manage expectations.
  • To deliver evidence based interventions with children and young people to help develop strong and sustainable relationships and support networks that will remain in place following the end of their time on the programme

Qualification:

  • A degree level qualification or equivalent experience in health, education, youth work, careers guidance or social work 
  • Knowledge of Government policies to tackle unemployment, social exclusion and low skills
  • Knowledge of the barriers that different groups face in moving towards or into the labour market

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS
