Civil Enforcement Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Usk to assist with the appointment of a Civil Enforcement Officer, on a 1.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £12.00 - £14.41 per hour
Responsibilities:
- To enforce all relevant Acts of Parliament and any other regulations relating to parking enforcement in both off-street and on-street (TMA 2004, CERTC 2013, etc.) as assigned during and outside normal operating hours of work.
- Patrol on and off-street beats inspecting parking, identifying contraventions, issuing and recording penalty charge notices,. using smartphones where necessary and providing a positive and courteous customer service
- To attend to all Pay and Display machines ensuring they are working correctly and sufficiently stocked with tickets, carrying out basic machine maintenance and cleaning/sanitising them where required. Attend to, or report any machine faults to the Civil Enforcement Administrator where necessary.
- To be responsible for the collection of monies from the council car parks pay and display machines located around the county. To be responsible for the daily counting of the collected monies and to ensure data sheets and bank slips reconcile for the daily collection for banking by the contracted security company.
- To undertake enforcement of environmental issues including but not limited to, dog fouling, littering, fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, graffiti & fly posting.
Qualifications:
- Qualified in or commitment to achieving within three months of appointment a City & Guilds Level 2 Award for Parking Enforcement Officers (essential requirement) and a willingness to undertake any further training courses and assessments as required;
- Flexibile approach to working hours and duties;
- Best practice in Customer Care issues ensuring service users are dealt with effectively and politely, able to manage difficult situations with members of the public who are often irate, hostile and uncooperative;
- Able to work quickly and effectively potentially dealing with a range of violations thereby requiring an awareness of various regulations, notices, policies etc. sufficient to recognise a violation and understanding how this might be addressed.
