Rate of Pay: £25.05 - £31.79 per hour

Summary:

We're recruiting for an experienced Registered Building Inspector Class 2F to join Walsall Council's Building Control team on a 6-month contract. This role involves carrying out plan assessments and site inspections on domestic and commercial developments, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, and dealing with dangerous structures, demolitions, and enforcement matters.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct Building Regulation plan assessments and site inspections up to Class 2F
• Assess residential and commercial developments for compliance
• Investigate dangerous structures and demolition notifications
• Manage enforcement and unauthorised building work cases
• Liaise with architects, contractors, developers, and stakeholders
• Maintain accurate inspection records and reports

Essentials:

• Registered Building Inspector (RBI) Class 2F with the Building Safety Regulator, or the ability to demonstrate eligibility to operate at this level.
• Significant Building Control experience within a Local Authority or Approved Inspector environment.
• Experience carrying out plan checking and site inspections on both residential and commercial projects.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Act legislation, dangerous structures, demolitions, and enforcement procedures.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
