We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Gardener, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £15.38 - £20.10 per hour

Summary:

The Gardener will be responsible for maintaining grassed areas, shrub beds, and landscaped spaces to a high standard, using a range of grounds maintenance equipment. This is a physically demanding role requiring previous experience with horticultural machinery and a full driving licence.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine grounds maintenance across council estates.
• Cut and maintain grassed areas using pedestrian and ride-on mowers.
• Trim hedges, shrubs, and bushes to maintain attractive public spaces.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment, including strimmers, hedge cutters, leaf blowers, and mowers.
• Maintain shrub beds, borders, and landscaped areas.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with health and safety procedures.

Essentials:

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, or horticultural work.
• Experience operating grounds maintenance machinery is essential.
• Knowledge of safe working practices when using horticultural equipment.
• Full valid UK driving licence
• Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions.
