 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in City of Westminster to assist with the appointment of a Homelessness Reviews Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £22.57 - £29.77 per hour

Summary:

Westminster City Council is seeking an experienced Reviews Officer to deliver high-quality statutory housing reviews. This role involves managing complex cases across homelessness decisions, housing register applications, and temporary accommodation suitability. You will ensure all decisions are legally compliant, fair, and completed within required timescales while maintaining a strong customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete statutory homelessness, housing register, and temporary accommodation suitability reviews
  • Ensure decisions comply with legislation, statutory guidance, and council policies
  • Manage a complex caseload independently and efficiently
  • Liaise with service users, colleagues, and external partners
  • Analyse information and produce clear, legally robust decisions

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Housing, Law, Public Administration, or a related field (desirable)
  • Evidence of relevant training or continuous professional development in housing/homelessness legislation

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience completing statutory homelessness reviews, including housing register and temporary accommodation suitability
  • Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and statutory decision-making
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce clear, defensible decisions
  • Excellent written, numerical, and communication skills
