Lead Professional Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely with local authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of a Lead Professional Officer, on a 4.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £22.16- £29.23 per hour
Summary:
The Lead Professional Officer plays a pivotal role within the Housing Service, delivering the Council's homelessness prevention and housing options functions through the No Wrong Door (NWD) approach. The post holder acts as the lead professional for customers, undertaking holistic assessments of housing and wider support needs, including employment, childcare, welfare, immigration, legal advice, and health-related issues.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive housing options interviews to assess housing circumstances, identify support needs, and prevent homelessness wherever possible.
- Undertake holistic assessments to identify wider support needs relating to employment, childcare, welfare benefits, debt, immigration, legal matters, health, and social support.
- Ensure decisions are legally robust, evidence-based, and compliant with current legislation and case law.
- Support customers in resolving financial barriers that may contribute to homelessness.
- Ensure all customer contact, assessments, actions, and outcomes are fully documented.
Qualifications:
- Educated to A-Level standard, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent relevant qualification, or substantial relevant housing experience.
Essentials:
- Experience providing housing advice, homelessness prevention, or housing options services.
- Knowledge of homelessness prevention and housing legislation.
- Experience working within a customer-focused environment dealing with vulnerable individuals and families.

- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires a Basic DBS
