Independent Living Team Supervisor

 Job Description:

We are working closely with a local authority in Rugby to assist with the appointment of an Independent Living Team Supervisor, on a 1.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £18.35- £24.94 per hour

Summary:

The Independent Living Team Supervisor is responsible for supervising the operational delivery of the Council's Independent Living service, ensuring residents receive high-quality housing-related support that enables them to live safely, independently, and with dignity.  Working closely with internal departments, health and social care partners, voluntary organisations, and residents, the postholder promotes continuous service improvement, excellent customer service, and compliance with statutory and organisational standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day delivery of the Independent Living service across multiple housing schemes.
  • Lead, motivate, support, and performance manage the Independent Living Coordinators to ensure high-quality, resident-focused service delivery.
  • Oversee housing management activities including tenancy compliance, estate inspections, risk management, and scheme administration.
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are effectively managed and appropriate referrals are made where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, fire safety requirements, risk assessments, and scheme inspections.
  • Respond to emergencies and major incidents, ensuring continuity of service and resident safety.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to A-Level standard, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), or significant relevant experience in Housing, Independent Living, Social Care, Community Services, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of housing management, safeguarding, tenancy management, and independent living services.

Essentials:

  • Experience supervising or leading staff within housing, independent living, supported housing, or community-based services.
  • Experience managing safeguarding concerns, welfare issues, and supporting vulnerable adults.
  • Experience conducting staff supervision, performance management, and workforce development.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records, producing reports, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies.

  • This role requires a Basic DBS
