Local Land Charges Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Local Land Charges Officer, on a 7-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £14.39 - £18.67 per hour
Summary:
To ensure compliance with statutory requirements relating to the Local Land Charges Register, and the register of village greens and common land, by maintaining and updating records accurately. The role involves interpreting search requests, retrieving and verifying information, and providing an excellent service to solicitors, agents, and members of the public.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update manual and electronic entries for the Local Land Charges Register.
- Interpret search requests and identify correct areas using manual and electronic processes.
- Process official Local Authority searches by investigating and collating information from Ordnance Survey maps and register entries.
- Retrieve and verify electronic search requests via the National Land Information Service (NLIS).
- Ensure accurate completion of data fields in computerised Land Charges software in line with BS7666 standards.
Requirements:
- GCSE (Grade C/4 or above) in English Language, or equivalent.
- Previous administration experience.
- IT literate, with working knowledge of databases and word processing.
- Experience working with maps/plans (manual or electronic).
- Strong customer service skills (face-to-face and telephone).
- Experience in investigating, reviewing, and collating information.
