Leaving Care Worker
Job Description:
We are working closely with local authority in Lincolnshire to assist with the appointment of a Leaving Care Worker, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £26.33- £34.77 per hour
Summary:
The Leaving Care Worker (G7) plays a vital role in supporting Care Experienced Young People aged 16–25 as they transition from care to independent adulthood. Working within the statutory Leaving Care Service, the postholder provides information, advice, guidance, advocacy, and practical support to help young people achieve positive outcomes in accommodation, education, employment, health, finances, wellbeing, and independent living.
Responsibilities:
- Provide statutory leaving care support to Care Experienced Young People aged 16–25, ensuring services meet legislative requirements.
- Offer information, advice, guidance, advocacy, and practical assistance relating to accommodation, education, employment, training, health, finances, wellbeing, and life skills.
- Deliver targeted interventions that support young people in developing independent living skills and achieving positive life outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records, reports, and documentation in accordance with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
- Travel locally and nationally to undertake visits, meetings, and service-related responsibilities as required.
- Participate in supervision, professional development, mandatory training, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People, Youth Work, or a related discipline, or willingness to work towards an appropriate qualification.
Essentials:
- Experience supporting young people aged 16–25 within children's services, social care, youth services, or a related setting.
- Experience providing practical advice and support relating to education, employment, housing, health, finances, and independent living.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child development, and risk management.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by care experienced young people transitioning to independence.
- A full UK driving license
