Attendance Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Walsall to assist with the appointment of an Attendance Officer, on a 5.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £17.35 - £20.08 per hour

Summary:

The Attendance Officer (Traded Support) role is responsible for working with schools, children, and families to improve school attendance, reduce persistent absence, and ensure children receive their education. The role involves managing a caseload, carrying out home and school visits, supporting parents and schools, and working within a statutory framework using a restorative approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with schools, children, and families to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence.
  • Conduct home visits, parental meetings, and attendance interventions.
  • Manage a caseload and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Build effective relationships with schools, families, and partner agencies.
  • Support schools in promoting attendance and participation.
  • Analyse attendance data and maintain accurate case records.

Essentials:

  • Experience working with children, young people, and families.
  • Experience within an educational setting, including attendance support.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisational, report writing, and case management skills.
  • Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance.
  • Ability to provide advice and support verbally in clear and accurate spoken English.
