Senior Enforcement Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Somerset to assist with the appointment of a Senior Enforcement Officer, on a 5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £34.34 - £47.48 per hour

Summary:

A Senior Enforcement Officer is required to undertake, coordinate and prioritise planning enforcement and compliance activities across Somerset. The role will focus on investigating complex breaches of planning control, conducting site visits, taking appropriate enforcement action and ensuring compliance with planning legislation, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate complaints relating to breaches of planning control.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess compliance with planning permissions and conditions.
  • Prepare and serve enforcement notices and other legal documents.
  • Provide planning enforcement advice and guidance to the public, developers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of investigations and enforcement actions.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning or a related field.

Essentials:

  • Proven experience in planning enforcement or a related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of planning legislation and enforcement procedures.
  • Knowledge of local and national planning policies.
  • Familiarity with the Town and Country Planning Act.
  • Understanding of legal processes relating to planning enforcement.
