Finance Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely with local authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Finance Officer, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £14.09- £18.42 per hour
Summary:
The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the financial management, monitoring, and administration of Transport Programme & Budget services. The post holder will ensure accurate financial processing, monitoring, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance with Council financial regulations and procedures. The role involves managing financial transactions, maintaining financial records, supporting budget monitoring activities, processing invoices and purchase orders, responding to customer enquiries, and producing financial reports that contribute to effective financial control and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, allocate, and report on financial activities across service budgets and revenue accounts.
- Prepare and analyse financial information for management reporting purposes.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information held within Council systems.
- Produce financial reports, statistical information, and management information as required.
- Ensure all activities comply with Council policies, financial regulations, and governance requirements.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics, or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.
Essentials:
- Knowledge of financial monitoring and financial administration processes.
- Understanding of financial control procedures and accounting practices.
- Experience of financial monitoring and administration.
- Experience processing financial transactions, invoices, or purchase orders.
