Rate of Pay: £19.88- £26.35 per hour

Summary:

The Youth Justice Case Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality youth justice services that safeguard children, reduce offending, promote rehabilitation, and improve life outcomes for children and young people who are at risk of, or involved in, the criminal justice system. The role requires a child-centred, trauma-informed, and restorative approach that recognises children as children first. The postholder will ensure that safeguarding, risk management, and statutory responsibilities are effectively balanced with rehabilitation, prevention, and positive outcomes, helping children develop resilience, build positive relationships, and achieve successful futures.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of offending behaviour, safeguarding concerns, vulnerability, and risk of serious harm.
• Ensure court orders, out-of-court disposals, and statutory interventions are effectively managed and completed.
• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, exploitation, neglect, abuse, and vulnerability.
• Ensure all safeguarding responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with statutory guidance and Council procedures.
• Address factors contributing to offending, including substance misuse, mental health, family relationships, education, exploitation, and social exclusion.
• Regularly review progress and adapt interventions to meet changing needs.

Qualifications:

• Recognised professional qualification in one of the following:
• Social Work (registered with Social Work England)
• Diploma in Probation Studies
• Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) in Youth & Community
• Relevant Youth Justice, Criminal Justice, or related degree with substantial relevant experience

Essentials:

• Significant post-qualification experience working with children, young people, and families.
• Experience undertaking comprehensive assessments of children, families, safeguarding concerns, and offending behaviour.
• Experience developing intervention plans aimed at preventing offending and reducing reoffending.
• Experience managing risk of serious harm, safeguarding risks, and vulnerability.
