Family Support Worker
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside with Birmingham Children's Trust to assist with the appointment of a Family Support Worker on a 2-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £15.34 - £19.96 per hour
Summary:
The Higher Level Family Support Worker is a vital role within Birmingham Children's Trust, focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for children and families. Operating within a multi-disciplinary safeguarding service, the post-holder uses professional expertise to coordinate multi-agency support plans, acting as a lead practitioner for complex cases. The role is dedicated to the Trust's vision of making Birmingham the greatest city to grow up in by driving excellence in practice and partnership
Responsibilities:
- Act as a Designated Safeguarding Professional (DSP) within the service, attending case conferences and sharing critical information with partners to promote child welfare.
- Serve as a "practice champion" in specific areas (e.g., domestic violence, substance misuse, or disability), providing advice and delivering workshops to the wider team.
- Oversee Grade 3 staff (GR3) regarding single agency support and participate in regular performance audits and service reviews.
- Maintain high standards of case recording on common databases and complete professional assessments/reports within strict timescales.
Essentials:
- Demonstrated ability to use professional skills to work in partnership with practitioners, children, and families.
- Experience using recognized assessment tools, family learning tools, and delivering parenting programs.
- Knowledge of local safeguarding policies, procedures, and the ability to act as a Designated Safeguarding Professional.
