Administration Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of an Administration Officer, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £17.96 - £23.47 per hour
Summary:
The Administration Officer will provide frontline administrative and customer support within the Homeownership Garages Team, which manages garages and barrow stores across the borough. The role involves being the first point of contact for customer enquiries, assisting with rent account queries, lettings, repossessions, and repairs, as well as maintaining accurate waiting lists and records. You will provide administrative support to the Homeownership Manager and the wider team, handling straightforward tasks to enable senior staff to focus on more complex casework.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for customer queries regarding garages and rent accounts, escalating complex issues to relevant officers.
- Register customers on the garage waiting list, assisting with offers and arranging appointments to view.
- Support the Income Officer with basic rent account and income management tasks.
- Assist Lettings Officers with viewings and administrative follow-up where required.
- Provide support to the Homeownership Manager by managing non-technical correspondence and customer enquiries.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Business Administration or equivalent (desirable).
- Experience working in an administrative or customer service environment.
- Experience handling customer enquiries in person, over the phone, and in writing.
- Experience using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Previous experience in a housing or local government setting (desirable).
