EHCP Coordinator
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of an EHCP Coordinator, on a 5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £28.45 - £38.23 per hour
Summary:
To coordinate and manage statutory assessment and planning processes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The role works in partnership with families, providers, and professionals to ensure efficient processes and improved outcomes through person-centred, strengths-based approaches.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the statutory assessment and Education Health and Care (EHC) Plan processes as part of a team of coordinators.
- Work in partnership with parents, children and young people, providers, and practitioners to ensure statutory processes are efficient, effective, and outcome-focused.
- Draft and maintain high-quality EHC Plans, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Promote and apply strengths-based, person-centred approaches in all casework.
- Support effective quality assurance processes and evidence-based decision-making to ensure consistency and accountability.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Proven background in working within SEND services.
- Experience of drafting Education Health and Care (EHC) Plans and managing related casework.
- Strong understanding of statutory requirements related to SEND.
- Knowledge of person-centred planning and quality assurance processes
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with families, children, young people, and professionals.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to quality, accountability, and improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Fluent in English (as required by Part 7 of the Immigration Act for customer-facing roles).
