Local Land Charges Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Local Land Charges Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.47 - £17.07 per hour

Hours per Week: 20

Summary:

The Local Land Charges Officer will support the delivery of an effective and customer-focused Local Land Charges (LLC) service. This includes maintaining the Local Land Charges Register, processing searches, responding to customer enquiries, and supporting data transformation initiatives in line with Land Registry requirements. The role also contributes to service improvement and ensures compliance with statutory obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Local Land Charges Register in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Receive, validate, and process Local Land Charge searches accurately within service targets
  • Respond to customer queries and provide advice on Local Land Charges services
  • Calculate and apply appropriate search fees in line with published charges
  • Liaise with solicitors, conveyancers, search agents, council officers, and the public via phone, email, and face-to-face
  • Support transformation activities including data cleansing, digitisation, and data discovery

Qualification:

  • 5 GCSE's (Grade A-C) or equivalent, including English and Maths

Essentials:

  • Experience working in a busy office environment
  • Experience dealing with customers and delivering high-quality service
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly
