Family Group Conference Manager

 Job Description:

We are working closely with a local authority in Plymouth to assist with the appointment of a Family Group Conference Manager, on a 6.5 -months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £28.98- £38.24 per hour

Summary:

The Family Group Conference (FGC) Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and continuous development of Plymouth City Council's Family Led Decision Making Service. The post holder will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering Family Group Conferences, Family Mediation, and Family Network Meetings, ensuring that children, young people, and families are empowered to develop safe, sustainable, family-led plans that improve outcomes and reduce the need for statutory intervention.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for Family Group Conferencing, Family Mediation, and Family Network Meeting services.
  • Ensure Family Group Conferences are delivered in accordance with national standards, legislation, and best practice.
  • Ensure children, young people, and family members have meaningful participation in planning and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities remain central to all aspects of service delivery.
  • Ensure accurate recording, reporting, and case management practices.
  • Ensure services operate within agreed financial frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent recognised qualification).

Essentials:

  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Extensive knowledge of children's social care legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Family Group Conferencing principles and family-led decision-making approaches.
  • Significant post-qualification experience working with children, young people, and families within safeguarding or family support services.
  • Experience delivering or managing Family Group Conferencing, mediation, restorative practice, or family-led interventions.

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
