Extra Care Scheme Manager
Job Description:
We are working closely with local authority in Somerset to assist with the appointment of an Extra Care Scheme Manager, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.47- £17.82 per hour
Summary:
Somerset Council is seeking an experienced Extra Care Scheme Manager to oversee the day-to-day housing management and tenancy services within an Extra Care Housing Scheme. The postholder will ensure tenants receive a high-quality, responsive, and customer-focused housing service in a safe, secure, and supportive environment while promoting independence, wellbeing, dignity, and choice.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure landlord responsibilities are carried out in accordance with Somerset Council policies, procedures, and relevant housing legislation.
- Encourage independence, personal choice, and wellbeing while supporting tenants to maintain their tenancies.
- Support void property processes including inspections and preparing properties for re-letting.
- Ensure compliance with housing legislation, safeguarding requirements, data protection, and health and safety regulations.
- Develop effective working relationships with Adult Social Care, health professionals, care providers, contractors, and voluntary organisations.
Qualifications:
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics
- Relevant housing qualification or willingness to work towards a recognised qualification (e.g., CIH Level 3 or equivalent).
Essentials:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in housing management within a local authority, housing association, or similar environment.
- Experience providing housing management support to tenants.
- Good knowledge of introductory and secure tenancy agreements and tenancy management.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and protecting vulnerable adults.

- This role requires a Basic DBS
