The Parts Manager provides vital leadership and direction to the parts department team and has a direct impact on parts sales and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include operating a profitable and efficient parts department operation, leading purchasing, inventory, parts and warehouse team, advertising and pricing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain policies and practices which will ensure positive customer relations.
- Assess present and future requirements, current trends, areas of improvement and profit opportunities of the Parts Department.
- Lead the team in a helpful and approachable manner ensuring that everyone is committed to teamwork and the Core Values.
- Build a loyal clientele and instill customer confidence by fostering good relationships and proactively addressing potential issues.
- Monitor the status of customer orders, advise in case of problems and notify upon arrival.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and track parts usage to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Manage the price margins on a daily and monthly basis, ensuring the goals are met per the parts annual budget.
- Establish policies and procedures to maximize inventory security
Requirements:
- 2+ years previous parts department leadership experience in the heavy-duty parts, service and sales industry.
- Excellent communication and effective listening ability skills.
- Appreciation of the need for teamwork.
- High School degree or equivalent, college degree is preferred.
