Millwright Maintenance Technician

Our client is seeking an experienced Millwright Maintenance Technician to execute electrical and mechanical planned, unplanned and corrective maintenance activities across the plant. The successful candidate will ensure equipment reliability and availability through safe, high-quality maintenance while providing technical support to operators and contributing to engineering and local projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all electrical and mechanical maintenance activities safely and in accordance with required standards.
  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance work orders.
  • Capture and maintain maintenance activities and work orders on the maintenance control system.
  • Provide feedback on all planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
  • Prepare detailed equipment breakdown reports.
  • Conduct breakdown analysis and implement appropriate corrective actions and countermeasures.
  • Participate in equipment breakdown root cause failure analysis.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed to the required quality standards and minimise equipment downtime.
  • Provide technical support and training to production operators.
  • Participate in technical improvement teams and identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements.
  • Support the execution of Engineering and Local Projects.
  • Maintain an organised workplace, documentation and toolboxes in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately recorded on the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with Production, Internal Logistics, QHSE and Global Maintenance & Projects teams.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, product end users and relevant authorities when required.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • N6 in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline will be advantageous.
  • Trade Tested Millwright.

Experience

  • 2–3 years' maintenance experience within the Food and Beverage industry.
  • Proven experience performing both electrical and mechanical maintenance in a plant environment.
  • Experience with planned, preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance.
  • Experience working with maintenance management systems/CMMS.
  • Experience conducting equipment breakdown analysis and root cause failure analysis.

Technical Knowledge

Strong knowledge of:

  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
  • Electric motors and electrical circuits.
  • Mechanical drive systems.
  • Gearboxes.
  • Compressors.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Pumps.
  • Industrial maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis tools.
  • Basic welding.
  • Basic HVAC systems.
  • ERP and CMMS systems.

Software Skills

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel.
  • Microsoft Word.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • CMMS/Maintenance Management Systems.
  • ERP systems.
