Responsibilities:
Warehouse Management

Ensure all purchase orders are completed on time with correct pricing.

Oversee receiving in line with purchase orders.
-
Enforce FIFO stock rotation.
-
Control booking out of ingredients to production.
-
Ensure inspections, cleaning, and sanitising in warehouse, freezer, receiving, and dispatch areas.
Distribution Management
-
Oversee trip and load planning.
-
Ensure efficient operations in distribution.
-
Supervise warehouse assistant in preparing and implementing daily load/trip planning.
-
Enforce compliance with policies and procedures.
Stock Control
-
Monitor and control warehouse and freezer stock levels daily.
-
Review inventory systems for optimal supply and control.
-
Negotiate with suppliers on cost and delivery.
-
Operate recording systems to track goods movements and ensure timely reordering.
-
Oversee purchase, storage, and distribution transactions.
Purchasing
-
Ensure purchasing aligns with stock levels and production plan.
Food Safety
-
Support Food Safety Team in implementing and maintaining ISO 22000.
-
Implement Food Safety Management System within area of responsibility.
Staff Management
-
Manage and develop staff to meet responsibilities.
-
Communicate effectively with staff.
-
Identify skills shortages and arrange training.
Production Flow
-
Prevent out-of-stock situations.
-
Schedule production shifts.
-
Reduce costs in production.
-
Ensure all products leaving premises are fit for human consumption.
Vehicle Maintenance
-
Ensure regular servicing of vehicles.
-
Conduct truck inspections and maintain cleanliness before departure.
Experience and Qualifications:
-
Experience: 2 years in distribution & warehouse management.
-
Qualifications:
-
Management course/certificate (NQF6).
-
Logistics / Supply Chain Management.
