Are you an experienced procurement professional with strong commercial, supplier management and supply chain expertise?

We are looking for a commercially driven Procurement Manager to lead the procurement and commercial development of a growing business. This is a key role responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, strengthening supplier relationships, securing competitive supply and logistics solutions, and supporting commercial, operational and working-capital objectives.

You will work closely with suppliers, customers, Finance, Sales, Quality, Warehouse, Operations, transport providers and third-party logistics partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Procurement
  • Develop and implement effective sourcing and procurement strategies
  • Manage local and international supplier relationships
  • Lead supplier negotiations and commercial discussions
  • Ensure competitive pricing, quality and reliable supply
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and procurement optimisation opportunities
  • Manage supplier performance and mitigate supply risks
Supply Planning
  • Oversee procurement requirements in line with demand, inventory levels and business requirements
  • Ensure continuity and security of supply
  • Work closely with Operations, Sales and Warehouse to align procurement with business needs
  • Monitor lead times, stock availability and potential supply constraints
  • Support effective inventory optimisation
Costing and Working Capital
  • Take responsibility for procurement-related costing and commercial analysis
  • Monitor supplier pricing and identify cost variances
  • Support effective working capital management through appropriate purchasing and inventory decisions
  • Monitor procurement spending against budgets
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins and reduce procurement costs
  • Work closely with Finance on costing, forecasting and procurement-related financial matters
3PL Management
  • Manage relationships and performance of third-party logistics (3PL) service providers
  • Negotiate and monitor service levels and commercial agreements
  • Ensure 3PL providers meet agreed operational and service requirements
  • Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for optimisation
  • Resolve escalated logistics and service delivery issues
ISO and Compliance
  • Maintain the integrity of procurement-related processes within the ISO management system
  • Ensure procurement procedures, records and supplier documentation meet required standards
  • Prepare for and support internal and external ISO audits
  • Ensure corrective actions are appropriately addressed and maintained
  • Promote compliance and continuous improvement across the procurement function
Leadership and Team Management
  • Allocate and oversee transactional procurement activities
  • Ensure the Open Order Book is accurately maintained and actively managed
  • Review procurement reporting and identify areas requiring intervention
  • Establish appropriate procurement KPIs and monitor performance
  • Provide guidance on supplier, logistics and operational escalations
  • Ensure effective communication between Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations and Warehouse
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Management, Commerce or a related field
  • Minimum 5–7 years' relevant procurement and supply chain experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement capacity
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain or commercial management
  • Experience within the chemical or related industrial sectors will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems is preferred
