A well-established food production and retail business based in Cape Town, is urgently seeking a hands-on and highly skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee all installations, repairs, and facility maintenance across their production facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all site maintenance operations (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, welding).

  • Lead and supervise maintenance technicians and manage after-hours breakdowns.

  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules, spares lists, job cards, and checklists.

  • Ensure proper function and servicing of machinery, production plant, refrigeration, boiler systems, fuel tanks, and fire safety infrastructure.

  • Manage external contractors and service providers.

  • Maintain accurate records, budget controls, and reporting to senior management.

  • Uphold all health & safety and food safety compliance standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement and help implement structured systems and manuals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership role (preferably in food production/FMCG).

  • Strong hands-on technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and basic hydraulics.

  • Strong administrative and reporting skills (quotations, job cards, tracking systems, emails).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Comfortable being on call and available for after-hours and weekend work (when required).

  • Valid Drivers License and own reliable transport.
