Quantity Surveyor

English / Portuguese speaking Surveyors required for a large construction / civils company based in Mozambique. Can be based in Mozambique currently or willing to relocate. Housing will be provided as well as living allowance, 2 trips home per year and health insurance.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or related field.
• Prior experience in civils / roads estimating Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
• Solid understanding of the civils / roads industry.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, without the need for extensive negotiation.
• Effective organizational, planning, and strategic abilities.
• Strong networking skills

Responsibilities:

• The Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in optimizing budgets, assessing plans, and estimating quantities. 
• They will collaborate with contractors, vendors, clients, and site managers while prioritizing client and site relationships.
• Analyzing construction plans and determining quantity requirements.
• Evaluating maintenance and material costs, while seeking favorable terms without contractual negotiations.
• Collaborating with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Compiling reports, assessments, budgets, risk evaluations, and related documentation.
• Advising stakeholders on enhancement opportunities and innovative strategies.
• Managing material inventory and reordering when necessary.
• Documenting design changes and updating budget plans.
• Cultivating and maintaining professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Traveling to various sites as needed.
