Commercial Manager - Malawi
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership

Lead the commercial strategy for The Companys operations in Malawi, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

Develop and implement robust commercial plans to drive market expansion and long-term revenue growth.
2. Business Development
-
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and customer segments to increase market share.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and business partners.

Monitor industry trends, customer behaviors, and competitive activity to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
3. Sales and Marketing
-
Lead and enhance the sales and marketing functions to meet or exceed revenue targets.

Develop pricing models and promotional strategies aligned with business objectives and market demand.

Ensure effective and efficient sales channels and distribution networks are in place and delivering results.
4. Financial Management
-
Collaborate with the finance team to manage commercial operations within budgetary guidelines.

Track and analyze financial performance, taking corrective actions to ensure profitability.

Support forecasting, P&L oversight, and financial reporting processes.
5. Team Leadership & Development
-
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial team.

Set clear KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching to optimize team effectiveness.

Promote a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
6. Customer Experience & Satisfaction

Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service across all customer touchpoints.

Address and resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.

Leverage customer feedback and data insights to improve products and services.
7. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure all commercial activities are compliant with Malawis legal and regulatory frameworks and internal policies.

Identify, assess, and mitigate risks affecting commercial operations, including legal, financial, and market risks.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
-
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. (MBA preferred)

Proven track record of leadership in commercial or business development roles.
-
Excellent negotiation, team management, and communication capabilities.
-
Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
-
In-depth knowledge of the Malawian market and business landscape.
-
Experience in cross-functional collaboration and client relationship management.
