Minimum requirements:
- Matric
- At least 5 years experience in Transport Management
- At least 2 years experience as a Manager
- Knowledge of transport methods, costs and benefits
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Complex problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail.
- Excellent Communicator
Responsibilities:
- The Transport Manager will be responsible for directing, coordinating, planning and overseeing tasks and operations involving transportation activities
- This responsibility will extend to developing strategies to ensure the efficient and cost-effective functioning of the distribution services
- Develop activities, considering the policy and objectives fixed by general management
- Coach and develop his team
- Ensure that nominated employees have the relevant skills
- Ensure that his team master the necessary tools and processes
- Implement operational processes to be adhered to by all employees in the team
- Follow and monitor budget goals
- Define, follow-up on and optimize, the annual budget
- Pilot profitability of his operations (GM+OR)
- Monitor the achievement of budget goals
- Drawing up the dashboards and issuing the reports
- Manage and supervise the activity
- Optimize Purchasing and fleet management
- Follow up of providers service quality according to service level required
- Oversee the activities and performance indicators
- Carry out regular reviews together with main partners to analyse the results, adjust the objectives, develop prospects and update the improvement plan
- Be responsible for data quality and integrity
- Ensure compliance requirements are fulfilled
- Be Responsible for local market expertise
- Insure updating the rate database and the various transport-related taxes (DMP Platform when available)
- Assist & support middle & front office in the setting-up of solutions
- Promote the communication from and towards the operations managers within their area of responsibility
