Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science or a related field.
- Significant progress towards becoming a Fellow of an accredited actuarial body.
- 3-6 years of experience within the life insurance industry.
Core Skills and Competencies:
- Strong passion for problem-solving and tackling complex challenges.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with IT tools such as Prophet, DCS, and SQL (an advantage).
- Eagerness to enhance technical expertise in information technology.
- Experience with life valuations and SAM reporting (advantageous).
- A quick learner with a proactive and independent approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Advanced analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage models for IFRS reserve calculations for assigned cell clients.
- Maintain models for SAM SCR and Technical Provisions for allocated clients.
- Contribute to the ORSA process for designated client accounts.
- Consult with clients on balance sheet management and provide actionable insights.
- Assist with regulatory return preparation and address related inquiries.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met.
- Enhance BSM Life software and streamline processes through automation.
- Participate in IFRS 17 implementation as part of a cross-functional project team.
- Offer thought leadership and mentorship within the actuarial specialist team.
