Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the engineering team to release features on the product roadmap.
• Be able to take full ownership of your feature releases, testing and reliability.
• Gain a holistic understanding of the company stack, infrastructure, internal development requirements, resources as well as customer facing features.
• You will be leading a team in this role and you are capable, experienced, willing and excited to step into a leadership and executive role, in the near future.

Requirements:

• A University degree is not needed, but would be ideal. 
• 5+ years of experience in the industry
• Experience with leading a team of engineers e.g. team lead.
• Experience with JavaScript (Node.js) and testing frameworks, as well as Python.
• Experience with AWS (or GCP / Azure)
• Ideally, experienced with Rust or WebRTC.
• Ideally a devops knowledge - Nomad (or Kubernetes) and Docker, as well as knowledge of standard Linux networking and shell scripting.
• While it wont be your focus, some familiarity with the usual frontend stack; HTML, CSS, JavaScript, a reactive framework like Vue or React and frontend testing frameworks like Jest and Cypress.
