Contract position
Minimum requirements:
- 10 to 12 years of general work experience with at least 10 years of relevant experience in project administration, project management, and program management.
- Experience as a scrum master and coaching Agile teams
- The minimum qualification required for this job is a matric (Grade 12), but a diploma or degree in a business discipline or in Information Systems will be an advantage.
- Five or more of the following certifications are required:
- IPMO - Practitioner Level Certification

Responsibilities:
- Compiling and keeping a portfolio of all current projects, including project purpose, project managers, project timelines, and project budgets.
- Facilitating the TSAMIT project budgeting process with all relevant stakeholders and ensuring buy-in and sign-off on the enterprise portfolio of projects and the costs associated with them.
- Managing the IT Project Management Office and ensuring the IT projects are executed as planned.
- Managing, guiding, and providing overall leadership to scrum masters and project managers.
- Supporting the successful delivery of projects undertaken by the Company through effective facilitation, tracking, and reporting on overall portfolio health.
- Acting as an escalation point for all project-related issues.
- Selecting and managing vendors and contractors when required.
- Act as a thought leader and expert on project management, waterfall, and Agile for Company South Africa.
- Staying abreast of all trends, new developments, and evolving knowledge in the fields of project management and Agile.
- Help transition our business from its existing work practices to infusing a real agile understanding from the top down.
- Acting as a thought leader by sharing project management information and knowledge with relevant stakeholders and influencing related decision-making.
- Providing advice and coaching to all stakeholders requiring support.
- Building a network of peers to learn from and share information about project management practices and standards.
- Becoming familiar with existing Company Manufacturing Europe and Company South Africa Manufacturing project management practices.
- Representing Company South Africa in Company worldwide project management decisions and discussions.
- Actively act as a formal member of the Company Global Agile Quality Circle
- Attending team meetings and workshops and contributing ideas and comments.
- Continuously developing his/her competency through attending training programs, self-study, reading, and networking with internal and external peers.
- Supporting team members and collaborating by clearly communicating expectations, progress, constraints, and resolutions.
- Contributing to the shared knowledge of the team by sharing insights, understanding, and experiences.
- Participating in relevant surveys and workshops.
- Performing required administrative requirements such as reports, time sheets, leave requests, performance contracting, performance progress feedback, and general requests.
- Investigating project management methodologies and deciding the best approaches for different kinds of projects.
- Guide teams to help them stay on track with agile techniques, fine-tuning approaches as needed to ensure the overall strategy is being met.
- Lead agile workshops for both development and functional teams, as well as key stakeholders
- Defining, implementing, and enforcing the use of project management processes for the TSAM IT department.
- Defining, implementing, and enforcing appropriate project management policies and standards for the TSAM IT department.
- Defining, creating, and enforcing appropriate project management templates to ensure consistency on IT projects.
- Maintaining and continuously improving policies, processes, standards, practices, and templates on an ongoing basis.
- Ensuring fit-for-purpose tools are acquired and used for PMO and project success
- Setting up and managing a central repository for project artifacts.
- Working with project managers to identify and then manage dependencies across multiple projects.
- Tracking project progress dealing with deviations and managing escalations.
- Tracking and managing project benefits.
- Ensuring the overall health of TSAM IT portfolio of projects in terms of schedule, budget, and quality.
- Contributing to the recruitment of project managers or staff that will have a project management responsibility by defining responsibilities, participating in interviews, and contributing to appointment decisions.
- Identifying project management qualifications and certifications requirements.
- Selecting best practice providers for project management education.
- Developing and presenting training on internal project management practices, processes, and standards.
- Coaching project managers on both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
- Devising assessments to determine the level of proficiency for current project managers.
- Communicating and enforcing project management standards and governance.
- Ensuring that all activities adhere to SOX and general TSAM governance.
- Liaising closely with Internal Audit and External Audit to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for managing the MLTP (Mid-to-Long-Term-Plan) ITs 3 to 5-year plan.
- Gathering relevant project data and producing reports and analytics for review by the management.
- Using updates from project managers to track the overall status of all projects in the portfolio.
- Assist in standardization of the compilation of information and ways of reporting the same to the management.
- Reporting on budget adherence and other financial information, such as return on investment of projects.
- Regularly meeting with IT colleagues to identify, agree and prioritise IT project priorities.
- Regularly meeting with the team members in the PMO and his/her manager to report progress, raise issues, and brainstorm solutions.
- Engage with all Company affiliates worldwide to establish a network for best practices and actively participate in forums to determine the Companys Global PMO strategy
