Key Purpose:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide accurate, relevant, timeous and insightful analytical financial information that enhances financial awareness and enables appropriate business decision making.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparation of standardised reporting packs for the various stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Review cross functional financial accounting functional data and provide insightful analysis to enable transactional and process optimisation
  • Identification of opportunities to eliminate process inefficiencies within the department and implementing solutions that drive continuous process improvement
  • Support of financial accounting system enhancement projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness across the department
  • Prepare and report on process compliance across Financial accounting, including but not limited to internal policies, processes, SOX, IFRS, internal and external audit as well as other SA regulatory bodies
  • Benchmarking Company financial accounting processes and data against industry best in class business practices, KPI and transformation activities
  • Identify and communicate best practice opportunities for implementation
  • Develop and roll out standardised reporting templates to facilitate standardisation
  • Attendance of stock counts and ensure compliance to hard close and year end procedures
  • Assistance with ad-hoc activities within the department

Qualifications and experience:

  • BCom Honours or equivalent.
  • Chartered Accountant of South Africa (CA(SA)) / Certified Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) with financial group reporting experience.
  • 4 years operational finance experience.
  • Previous experience in managing a complex reporting function an advantage.
  • 3-4 years finance experience in a multinational.
