About the job Plant Operator

Key purpose:

To operate the Bulk Emulsion Manufacturing Plant, delivering ANE manufacturing and ANE transfer operations safely within the guidelines set out in Company SOPs for ANE Manufacturing. 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Operate within the Company SHE standards
  • Compliance with ANE manufacture and plant operating procedures, including: work permits, confined space entry, control of change, PPE application and record keeping
  • Ensure No safety, health and environmental incidents
  • Ensure No product transport incidents
  • Ensure No personnel accidents to self or direct reports
  • Ensure No preventable security incursions or thefts
  • Generation of hourly and daily production, and reliability reports
  • Ensure high housekeeping standards and maintain cleanliness of process equipment.
  • Continuous variable production cost reduction (ANE manufacturing within proposed production time and active project participation)
  • Continuous fixed cost reduction (active project participation)
  • Identify hazardous Equipment and systems conditions and raising maintenance job request
  • Active participation in drafting and revision of operating procedures
  • Personal development towards higher-level capability
  • Active participation in continuous improvement of operating systems advantaging customer and the Company
  • Participation in the implementation of new customer-focused product formulations (and types) in conjunction with the Product and Process Implementation and Support (PPIS) team
  • Collaboration with all other plant operators and all other departments
  • Active participation in plant meetings, site meetings, and demonstrable cooperation with Company and Customers staff at site.
  • Assist Operations and Site Manager with local communities (in conjunction with client) to facilitate community knowledge and acceptance of site operations

Education and Experience:

  • High-school level education
  • Trades background highly regarded
  • Minimum 2 years experience in plant operations
  • Licence to drive, and to operate a forklift

Essential Skills:

  • Understand management principles and practices.
  • Self-starter
  • Team player
  • Spoken English preferred
  • Knowledge of computer operation preferred
