About the job Solutions Architect
Duties and responsibilities:
- Demonstrate cost consciousness and awareness of personal contribution to costs and productivity Identify and escalates potential risks that may lead to increased costs
- Prevent wastage and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs
- Implements customer service solutions demonstrating the shared values "My work is my signature" and "My word is my bond".
- Manages and takes accountability for the implementation and maintenance of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) outcomes for customer service delivery across area of responsibility.
- Investigates and understands customer needs to enable delivery of a quality service.
- Keeps all stakeholders well informed of status of design effort and serves as liaison between Portfolio Manager, Project Manager and Systems Analyst.
- Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
- Generates technical risk and architecture decision log and reports when required.
- Ensures the Solutions Architecture team contributes to company's Solutions Architecture repository.
- Complies to and supports by enforcing enterprise architecture standards, policies and procedures.
- Sets up solution design authority with the enterprise governance in appropriate projects.
- Participates in the systems development life cycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout the project.
- Delivers the high-level Solutions Architecture design and the detailed Solutions Architecture design.
- Participates in the reviewing of business cases, functional requirement specifications (FRS), integrated business requirement specification (BRS) and technical system specification (TSS) of the project.
- Acquires and disseminates specialist knowledge with peers and professional organisations to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Adheres to respective best practice.
- Shares and evaluates specialist information through relevant forums.
- Translates opinions and recommendations into technically sound knowledge.
- Applies knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve applications.
- Provides technical direction for the development, design and systems integration for client engagement from the definition phase through to implementation.
- Applies knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve applications.
- Identifies system deficiencies, designs and implements effective solutions.
- Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Designs systems to meet business requirements.
- Works with the company Enterprise Architect Team to align to the company Enterprise Architecture strategies.
- Leads the technical design phase of the SDLC.
- Conducts research on emerging technologies.
- Recommends and implements technologies that improve cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
- Confers with end users, clients, or senior management to understand business requirements for complex development or enhancements.
- Assists with gap analysis and business cases including cost and effort analysis.
- Implement, monitor and control business processes according to quality standards; policy; and compliance and governance requirements in area of accountability
- Ensure the development, alignment, mapping and implementation of end-to-end processes aligned to the customer journey map
- Research, enable and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement
- Review existing processes and suggest innovative ideas to improve and streamline processes to drive efficiencies and minimise redundancy
- Monitor customer feedback reports and align processes to maximise efficiencies
- Promote teamwork and inclusivity amongst team members and demonstrates behaviours that respect diversity
- Partner and collaborate with team members to achieve team success
- Share information and knowledge that benefits the team
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree or Bachelor of Commerce(Informatics)
- Relevant Honours Degree
- Minimum of five to eight years experience in software or solutions development and design within the financial services industry
