Senior Automation Engineer (Mechatronics)
Responsibilties:

Identify potential areas of improvement in current manufacturing and/or testing equipment and processes, and manage the implementation of replacement equipment/processes
-
Plan, lead, organise, and control engineering initiatives to ensure future capacity requirements are met through sustaining existing systems and executing new projects
-
Identify new technologies, processes, or standards that can be used in the supply chain of The Company to improve and optimise quality and reduce costs in manufacturing and assembly
-
Play a lead technical role in developing automation processes across the entire supply chain

Support outsourced automation projects, including:
-
Creating user requirement specifications
-
Providing technical assistance
-
Overseeing commissioning
-
Supporting integration into current systems
-
Offering long-term support for implemented projects
-

Provide manufacturing insight into new product development or major changes to existing products, influencing design and process decisions early in the product life cycle

Stay updated on new product development (especially in R&D) and work closely with industrialisation throughout the development life cycle

Lead manufacturing personnel in implementing new automation and manufacturing standards, including:

Software standards
-
Project planning frameworks
-
Documentation templates
-
Standards for parts and processes
-
Commissioning procedures and sign-offs
-

Provide technical support for existing legacy equipment and systems
-
Share knowledge of The Companys manufacturing processes and systems with team members to enhance their technical capabilities

Continuously develop technical expertise to remain a specialist in automation

Actively bridge gaps between departments and personnel within The Company by implementing effective communication strategies and integrated project planning
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Requirements:

BEng in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent qualification
-
7+ years experience in automation engineering and development of new systems in a highly technological environment

Understanding of electronic system design
-
Understanding of mechanical system design
-
Understanding of mechatronic system design
-
Experience in electronic initiation and the mining industry (advantageous)
