Academic Qualifications

Essential:

  • NQF Level 7 Qualification in Business (Bachelor's).
  • Work and/or Residence Permit legal right to work in Zimbabwe.
  • Criminal Record Checks (Clear Record).
  • Valid Drivers License (Valid).

  • Will be required to travel.

Work Experience

Essential:

  • 5-8 years experience managing and running a regional country in a similar business.
  • 2 years experience in the rental lease business.
  • 2 years experience in car sales.

Responsibilities: 

Country Strategy and Plan Development and Implementation
  • Review the overall company plan, strategy, and direction of the business.
  • Align and develop the local country strategy and plan with the business direction and strategy.
  • Identify new projects and products for inclusion in the country plan.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships and new suppliers to support business strategy achievement.
  • Set and monitor milestones and goals to achieve key elements of the strategy and plan.
  • Define, translate, and cascade scorecard key deliverables for all roles across the business to align with the overall plan and strategy.
Country Operations Plan Implementation
  • Ensure the implementation of strategy in the designated regional country.
  • Design the organizational structure and resources to operate the business.
  • Negotiate relevant contracts to support operations.
  • Secure and renew registrations required to operate locally and monitor compliance with local company acts and regulations.
  • Continuously review systems and enablers internally and externally.
  • Ensure property lease agreements are current and compliant with company requirements.
  • Understand facility requirements and source appropriate facilities.
Marketing and Country Revenue Target Management
  • Provide guidance and identify opportunities for marketing campaigns in the regional country.
  • Review and approve marketing services and products for the regional country.
  • Identify opportunities for business development of current and new products.
  • Negotiate and agree on new contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure monthly budgeted profitability targets are defined, monitored, achieved, and exceeded.
  • Ensure budgeted monthly revenue targets are achieved or exceeded.
  • Ensure fleet growth targets are achieved or exceeded.
  • Ensure monthly car sales targets are achieved, maintaining profit margins.
Leasing, Rental, and Car Sales Management
  • Collaborate with fleet suppliers to manage the vehicle supply chain for stock availability.
  • Manage the fleet, including maintenance through dealership relationships.
  • Oversee operational control of vehicles, including insurance, registration, licensing, fines, etc.
  • Compile reports on fleet life and quality, both internally and externally.
  • Renegotiate contracted rates with customers.
  • Reassess and realign leasing contracts to operate within contract parameters.
  • Manage and oversee contracts to avoid vehicles exceeding term limits and incurring excess costs.
  • Oversee and manage the fleet maintenance fund and maintenance plans.
  • Manage and oversee the car sales process, including pricing, profitability, marketing, and vehicle disposal.
Country Risk Management
  • Review the in-country environment and conduct an overall risk assessment.
  • Identify specific risks that could impact or derail the strategy and plan.
  • Compile a risk register and identify potential mitigation factors.
  • Review risks on an ongoing basis.
  • Research market changes that may impact the business and assess risks.
Financial and Budget Management
  • Oversee effective financial operations, including accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure correct and timely submission of financial information to head office.
  • Manage and support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax and registration requirements for audited financial statements.
  • Manage cash flow, interest, and borrowing costs.
  • Monitor and manage budget adherence.
  • Oversee asset register creation and management.
  • Review receivables age analysis and assist with debt collection.
  • Ensure Capex processes and limits of authority are adhered to.
  • Provide input on cash requirements planning and local market funding sourcing.
  • Review and authorize vehicle purchases and sales.
  • Conduct detailed budget reviews and presentations.
  • Ensure fiduciary, legislative, and statutory compliance.
  • Provide input for quarterly board packs.
  • Review and approve rate reviews, authorizations, and major tenders.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
  • Accompany the Sales team on key customer visits.
  • Visit key suppliers (e.g., panel beaters, tire suppliers, dealerships).
  • Build effective relationships with in-country teams and support departments (e.g., Human Capital, IT).
  • Resolve key customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular reviews of CSI scores and customer feedback.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve CSI.
  • Ensure impactful CSR strategies are in place and actioned.
People Management
  • Ensure compliance with region-specific laws, policies, and legislation.
  • Provide input on optimal organizational structure and skills for the regional country.
  • Manage and lead a team of managers in the designated regional country.
  • Monitor and develop direct reports through monthly one-on-ones.
  • Conduct site visits and oversee team meeting outcomes.
  • Address annual employee engagement results and implement action plans.
  • Develop and maintain a succession plan in line with business and country requirements.
