Responsibilities:

  • Managing the financial performance and margins of each branch on a national basis.
  • Ensuring high levels of customer service are offered.
  • Provide effective communication on operational performance, service level's and associated costs.
  • Controlling of all fixed, variable costs, movable and non-movable assets.
  • Manage staff, drivers and van assistants and their well-being.
  • Strive to improve on distribution solutions and service offering to all clients.
  • Ensure fleet is maintained as per manufacturers standards, and a professional image is displayed.
  • Financial Management
  • Compile budgets for all branches, striving for improved financial performance.
  • Managing of all Branches, Profit and Loss statements on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that all costs are controlled correctly in relation to budgeted figures
  • Manage and measure all variable costs such as: fuel, R+M, sub-hires, salaries, wages and other costs
  • Manage and reduce accidents.
  • Measure and manage fuel consumption in order to optimize fuel usage.
  • Ensure that all procurement orders are validated and approved within the allocated time frames.
  • Ensure that all financial targets are mat.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service are achieved, adapting to the dynamic needs of our customers.
  • Provide professional feedback on operational, distribution performance.
  • Build and create a sustainable business relationship with all clients.
  • Strive to constantly improve the clients distribution process/ model in order to yield better efficiencies and to reduce the client's distribution costs.
  • Formulate new and different strategies with the client in order to model distribution patterns/ simulations around the client's current business model.
  • Conduct monthly review meetings including presentations in order to measure performances.
  • Management of human Capital
  • Ensure that all staff is daily managed, lead, coached and mentored.
  • Ensure that all staff adheres to the Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the staffs leave (both staff and wage) are controlled as per company's policy.
  • Guide, train and empower Staff to grow within the organization and to their full potential.
  • Conduct performance appraisals for each staff member bi annually, ensuring goals are agreed upon and staffs are given realistic and stretched targets
  • Maintain discipline within the business unit.
  • Fleet Management / Unit Gears / Generators 
  • Ensure the fleet / unit gears / generators are maintained to the company policy, safe and adhere to the national traffic act.
  • Monitor trends, investigate all accidents / incidents derive strategies to minimize related risk and cost.
  • Ensure that all staff understands the policies relating to tyre management.
  • Ensure your fleet is kept clean, branding in line with company policy and assets cared for.
  • Acquire new business.
  • Source Sales leads by analysing niche markets and routes.  
  • Through these leads, establish contacts and liaison with companies within these markets/routes.
  • Target potential clients and follow up by contacting them.
  • Determine whether the potential client requires our services, schedule & confirm an appointment where necessary.
  • Visit clients to explain the services we offer and ascertain the client's requirements
  • Evaluate the profitability of taking on the business.
  • Negotiate rates within a given parameter.
  • Attend to incoming telephone etiquette and enquiries from potential clients.
  • Facilitate processing of credits applications.
  • Obtain the credit application from the client, & submit to Head Office for approval.
  • Obtain any further information required by the National Credit Manager in granting the credit.
  • Visit or telephone existing clients
  • Discuss all aspects of the services provided.
  • Establish whether the clients requirements have been met and discuss problems or concerns regarding the service provided
  • Liaise with the relevant departmental managers regarding client requirements or problems, and resolve problems according to the clients satisfaction.
  • Report back to clients on the company's progress or conclusion with regards to their requirements or problems.
  • Inform clients of any changes relevant to their business i.e. customs procedures, rate changes, etc.
  • Report back to the source of the sales lead on the outcome.
  • Comply with the management of the quality management system.
  • Be aware of procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to the job descriptions and work instructions
  • Establish the requirements of the client and conform to them.
  • Interrupt the process and implement corrective action.
  • Recommend changes to processes and/or to the quality system.
  • Adhoc - additional duties and responsibilities related to the position which will be delegated by the superior.
  • To bring on new VTR and Film Fleet business
  • Achieve targets in line with those set
  • Do monthly feedback reports
  • Market and attain new business for your divisions and the company.
  • Attain the full wallet spend within current customer based.
  • Caring / entertaining of clients on a regular basis.
  • Conducting workshops and training for staff.
  • Ensure that good housekeeping standards are practiced throughout the Branches
