Requirements and Responsibilities for an All-round Technician:
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and PLC control.
- Strong technical insight and problem-solving ability.
- Experience working in a production environment.
- Proficient communication skills, with a good command of the Afrikaans language.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Decision-making capability, with the confidence to ask for help when needed.
- Completed a technical education.
- Willingness to work in a 2-shift system (6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.).
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the optimal technical condition of an advanced and extensive machine park through preventive and corrective maintenance and optimizations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for the technical condition of production lines and building-related installations, which include water purification systems, electrical power generators, and high-pressure systems.
- Share technical expertise with the Technical Coordinator and collaborate closely with colleagues in the Technical Department.
- Guide contractors and suppliers during preventive maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations in all tasks.
- Identify unsafe situations or deviations and report them according to procedure.
- Be the point of contact for contractors and temporary workers, guiding them in carrying out technical work.
- Be available outside office hours for advice, analyses, and consignment service.
