Requirements and Responsibilities for an All-round Technician:

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and PLC control.
  2. Strong technical insight and problem-solving ability.
  3. Experience working in a production environment.
  4. Proficient communication skills, with a good command of the Afrikaans language.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  6. Decision-making capability, with the confidence to ask for help when needed.
  7. Completed a technical education.
  8. Willingness to work in a 2-shift system (6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.).

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain the optimal technical condition of an advanced and extensive machine park through preventive and corrective maintenance and optimizations.
  2. Serve as the first point of contact for the technical condition of production lines and building-related installations, which include water purification systems, electrical power generators, and high-pressure systems.
  3. Share technical expertise with the Technical Coordinator and collaborate closely with colleagues in the Technical Department.
  4. Guide contractors and suppliers during preventive maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
  5. Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations in all tasks.
  6. Identify unsafe situations or deviations and report them according to procedure.
  7. Be the point of contact for contractors and temporary workers, guiding them in carrying out technical work.
  8. Be available outside office hours for advice, analyses, and consignment service.
