Our client is seeking a compassionate and technically capable Homecare Advisor to provide professional homecare support to patients using respiratory and related medical equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and installing equipment, educating patients and caregivers on the correct and safe use of products, conducting routine patient visits and providing ongoing therapy support.
This is a highly mobile, patient-facing role requiring strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and connect respiratory care products and equipment at patients' homes
- Educate patients and caregivers on the correct and safe use of oxygen and respiratory equipment
- Provide ongoing patient support and ensure compliance with prescribed therapy
- Manage all administrative tasks and patient follow-ups relating to the existing customer base
- Support the acquisition and onboarding of new patients
- Conduct titration downloads and schedule patient appointments for routine visits and home sleep studies
- Coordinate CPAP appointments and confirm equipment deliveries
- Ensure timely delivery and connection of equipment to patients' homes
- Advise patients and customers on products, equipment usage and therapy requirements
- Conduct equipment demonstrations and patient training
- Ensure routine patient visits are completed within the required timelines and in accordance with established procedures
- Manage assigned patient lists and maintain accurate records on the relevant patient management system
- Implement Therapy Initiation and Therapy Optimisation programmes
- Provide telephonic assistance and patient support when required, including weekends and public holidays
- Implement CPAP therapy in accordance with sleep study results and doctors' prescriptions
- Demonstrate CPAP machines and masks and provide appropriate patient education
- Deliver insulin pumps and related disposables to new patients
- Educate patients on insulin pump therapy and assist with pump setup and demonstrations
- Manage monthly disposable equipment deliveries
- Compile monthly state information using the required reporting template
- Maintain accurate stock counts and control of equipment and consumables
- Monitor expenses and ensure responsible use of company resources
- Maintain and use the company pool vehicle responsibly and in accordance with company requirements
- Adhere to all safety, quality and operational policies and procedures
- Handle and transport medical equipment, including oxygen cylinders and concentrators
- Assist with additional departmental activities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Degree or Diploma
- Matric / Senior Certificate
Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Respiratory Care
- Minimum 3 years' driving experience
- Experience working directly with patients in a homecare or clinical environment would be advantageous
- Experience with respiratory equipment, CPAP therapy or related medical devices would be advantageous

Working Conditions
- Daily travel to patients' homes with limited time spent in the office
- Availability for patient support outside normal working hours, including weekends and public holidays, when required

- Ability to operate independently while managing a geographically assigned patient bas
