Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate bills of quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates from design and tender documents.
  • Manage all contract documentation and ensure compliance with FIDIC, Joint Venture / Joint Contracting Committee (JVCC) and equivalent contract forms.
  • Administer contracts from award through to final account, including variations, claims, and extensions of time.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasting, cash flows, and assist in financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Site Teams to ensure commercial risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, negotiate rates, and assist in procurement decisions.
  • Validate progress claims, site measurements, and verify work done for payment.
  • Participate in risk assessment meetings and provide commercial input to project analyses.
  • Support tender & bid teams with cost inputs, pricing strategy and contract terms.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in quantity surveying, preferably with exposure in drilling, mining, civil engineering or energy sector projects.
  • Demonstrable experience with FIDIC and JVCC contract forms.
  • Experience in large-scale, multi-discipline projects with high technical content.
