Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • Degree in Engineering OR
    • National Diploma with:
      • 3 Phase Trade Test
      • Wiremans License
  • Ideal Qualifications:
    • BEng/BTech in Electrical Engineering
    • Diploma in Project Management
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 4+ years in:
      • Solar Power
      • Manufacturing
      • Engineering
      • Construction
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Coordination
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor engineering projects
  • Develop project designs and plans in collaboration with team
  • Liaise with internal departments and third-party contractors
  • Ensure effective resource planning and cost estimation
2. Quality Control
  • Enforce compliance with engineering codes, QA policies, and safety standards
  • Perform quality control on all deliverables and report regularly on progress
3. Client Liaison
  • Manage client communication, expectations, and feedback
  • Ensure clarity in design requirements and project timelines
  • Avoid miscommunication that may result in scope creep or delays
4. Budgeting and Billing
  • Provide accurate instructions to the Finance Department
  • Ensure costs remain within the allocated budget
  • Submit necessary financial documentation on time
5. Team Collaboration
  • Coordinate with Head of Engineering to resolve issues before client impact
  • Provide guidance to team members in a positive, constructive manner
6. Electrical Design
  • Prepare and input detail for all engineering drawing packs
  • Review and approve final engineering design packs per company SOPs
7. Ad Hoc Project Inputs
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies
  • Assist in project cost estimation and design of solar arrays
8. Project Handover
  • Ensure project is handed over to O&M in full working order
  • Oversee plant performance for a 3-month post-installation period
9. Contractor Management
  • Validate contractor credentials, insurance, and references
  • Set clear deliverables and timelines before project kick-off
  • Align contractor scope with FIDIC, JBCC, and NEC standards
10. General
  • Take ownership of professional development
