Data Analyst

Responsibilities:
  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and clean data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  • Work closely with management to prioritise business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience retrieving data from databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets (Excel, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
  • Ability to design, document, and develop reports and dashboards in Jasper Report Server, QlikSense, and NPrinting.
  • Enthusiasm and passion to develop a career within a multidisciplinary software development environment.
  • Ability to define and follow coding standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and compromise to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey and absorb technical ideas, suggestions, and solutions.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
  • A good attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to quickly acquire new skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and time efficiently and work in a structured manner.
  • Ability to think independently and logically, and to debug programs and isolate causes of program errors.
  • Ability to deal with interruptions and to estimate and communicate progress.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.
