Job Description:

We are in search of a dynamic and dedicated Senior Accountant who will execute a range of accounting duties to support our clients' financial, accounting and tax management. Moreover, this role entails providing comprehensive training and mentorship to fellow accounting professionals.

Job Qualifications

Responsibilities:

Prepare Business Activity Statements (BASs) and Installment Activity Statements (IASs).

Preparation of SMSF Financial Statements and Tax Returns in preparation for the auditor.

Processing up to Trial Balance stage and preparing financial statements for lodgment.

Prepare Income Tax Returns and Tax Returns for Sole traders, Partnerships, Companys, Trusts.

Preparation of FBT Returns.

Proficient in taxation issues such as Division 7A and CGT.

Balance sheet reconciliation, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable management.

Bank reconciliations, General Ledger Maintenance and Bookkeeping.

Assist Clients with MYOB & Xero queries.

Contact Clients regarding queries.

Provide general accounting and taxation advice and strategies to clients.

Collaborate with the management to develop financial strategies and forecasts for the organizations overall growth and sustainability.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant taxation, regulations, and legal requirements to ensure compliance.

Research and accurately interpret taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings for clients.

Develop and deliver training programs for junior staff members, covering accounting principles, software systems, providing guidance on best practices and resolving complex accounting issues.

Provide guidance and mentorship to accountants, helping them develop their skills and advance their careers within the company.

Ensure that all work is error-free and professionally presented and complies with procedures and systems.

Prepare Profit & Loss statement and cash flow budgets for clients.

Other duties as requested.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy

Certified Public Accountant

Minimum of 5 years of Australian accounting and taxation experience.

Experience in the preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts.

Experience in training or mentoring accountants.

Experience working with Australian SMEs.

Experience in SMSF financial statement preparation.

Competent with computer operations as well as some specific applications, such as Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Having certification in Xero is a plus. .

The person must be keen to learn and develop their computer competencies.

Particularly good in verbal and written English communication skills.

Ability to provide constructive feedback and encourage a collaborative team environment
